Weekend Parking Guide: Lovin’ Life Festival, Kendrick Lamar, Charlotte Knights

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Uptown Charlotte is preparing to see large crowds this weekend. The trifecta including the Lovin’ Life Festival, Kendrick Lamar and SZA, and The Charlotte Knights will draw thousands to the city center preparing to make parking a tricky task.

We’re here to help minimize any headaches with a weekend parking guide to keep you in the loop with pricing, location, and all types of parking in the busy city.

Lovin’ Life Music Festival

For those of you headed to the Lovin’ Life Music Festival, parking could be a challenge as there is an anticipated 80,000 participants planning to attend.

Preferred Parking offers a number of convenient parking locations around the city for those looking to drive in for the show.

Park-and-ride options:

The festival – located at First Ward Park in Uptown – is easily accessible by CATS Blue Line light rail. Attendees traveling from outside Center City are encouraged to park at a Park and Ride location along the light rail, which offers free parking to all CATS customers.

CATS Ambassadors will be stationed at I-485, JW Clay and University City Blvd. Park and Ride Stations to assist riders and answer questions about festival transportation. Ambassadors will also be present at the Charlotte Transportation Center (CTC), 7th and 9th Street Stations to direct customers to the festival.

*Through May 1, customers can purchase a 3-Day Unlimited Pass for $12.00. From May 2 to May 3, the unlimited pass can be purchased for $15.00. If purchasing tickets on or after May 3, festival attendees are encouraged to purchase a Day pass at a regular price of $6.60. All pass options can be purchased via the CATS-Pass App by clicking on the Lovin’ Life Music Festival logo under the events section. 

The passes are NON-Refundable adult tickets that can be used on the Gold Line, Blue Line and bus system. Passes will be active from May 2 at midnight to May 5 at 2 a.m., providing unlimited rides to ticket holders during this time. 

Kendrick Lamar + SZA Concert

If you’re driving to the show, there are more than 30,000 parking spaces available within a 15-minute walk to Bank of America Stadium. Drivers can also reserve parking spots ahead of the concert here.

If you’re not driving to the concert, rideshare services including Uber and Lyft are available. Officials have advised fans to pick up and drop off using their preferred rideshare app at the corner of Third and Church Streets, next to Romare Bearden Park.

 Charlotte Knights Baseball Game

The Charlotte Knights are now offering fans the opportunity to pre-purchase parking in the Mint Street Parking Garage. Guarantee your parking spot just steps away from Truist Field by clicking here.

The Mint Street Parking Garage is located at the intersection of W Martin Luther King Blvd and S Mint Street and offers three separate entrances on S Mint Street, W Martin Luther Kings Blvd, and S Graham Street.

Weekend Road Closures

Several roads in Uptown will be closed due to the Lovin’ Life Festival. Here’s a list of closure announced by the City Of Charlotte:

  • 4th Street both eastbound lanes between Graham St and Mint St

  • 8th Street between Brevard St and the Light Rail Tracks
  • 9th Street between Caldwell St and the Light Rail Tracks
