Six people now facing more charges in deadly mass shooting in Catawba Co.

CATAWBA CO., N.C. – Six people are now facing more charges in connection to the deadly mass shooting in Catawba County. A seventh person has also been charged with four counts of accessory after the fact.

According to investigators, the person who fired the bullet that killed 54-year-old Shawn Hood will not face charges. According to police, the suspects were in a gang and fired from a hillside down onto the party. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office says Hood was not an intended target, and he was hit by a bullet fired in response to the shooters.

James Barnacle of the FBI says, “People that pull a trigger, the bullet doesn’t care where it goes. They have a responsibility and they’re going to face justice.

In total 9 people are facing charges for what happened that day.
