HICKORY, NC — Police have identified the victim of a deadly motorcycle accident.
The Hickory Police Department says on Sunday around 9:10 p.m. they were called to North Center Street near 22nd Avenue NW for an accident involving a motorcycle and a Nissan pickup truck.
Investigators say 38-year-old Jordan Phillip Daughaday, of Taylorsville, was driving the Harley-Davidson motorcycle south on North Center Street, and the Nissan truck was turning left on North Chester Street.
The motorcyle and the truck crashed and Daughaday died at the scene.
Police say excessive speed by Daughaday was a factor in the crash and the investigation is ongoing.
