Body of missing 7-year-old boy in Asheboro found in pond

Randolph County deputies state that the body of 7-year-old Liam King was discovered on the morning of Tuesday, September 9th in a pond near the area he was initially reported missing, according to a new release.

Liam’s death remains an active investigation.

ASHEBORO, N.C. – You may have seen it as an alert on your phone over the weekend. As of Monday night, police in Asheboro are still searing for a missing 7-year-old boy.

Liam King disappeared from Forest Hills Drive in Asheboro on Sunday. He was last seen wearing a light blue, black and gray Nike sweatshirt, black sweatpants, and tan tennis shoes. He’s non-verbal, and may run if approached.
