A brief shower Tuesday, but mostly clear

Dry and cool most of the week, rain chance late weekend

Tonight remains cool and clear, with a fall-like pattern sticking around. We have officially transitioned into consistently cool mornings and average daytime highs. Winds will continue to diminish, making for a comfortable evening.

Tuesday will bring another beautiful day, with plenty of sunshine and highs reaching the upper 70s. A weak cold front will move through the Carolinas Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures. This front will be moisture-starved, so any rain chances will be limited to a brief, with a few isolated showers at most. Winds will start to pick up a head of this front making for gusty conditions through the afternoon into the evening.

By late in the week, morning lows could dip into the upper 30s across parts of the Piedmont and Foothills. While widespread frost isn’t a concern just yet, we’re clearly settling into a fall pattern.

Expect a stretch of cool, dry weather to continue through the week, with our next chance for rain arriving by late in the weekend.
