Sunshine holds tight much of the week

Above average temperatures on the way

Tonight, will remain clear and calm with a minimal breeze and overnight lows in the lower 40s.

Election Day Forecast

We’re starting Election Day on a chilly note, so if you’re planning to head out early to cast your vote, you’ll definitely want that jacket or a warm cup of coffee in hand. Morning temperatures will hover in the low 40s, and it’ll feel like classic November like weather.

Don’t worry, it won’t stay that cool for long. As the sun pops out, we’ll warm up nicely through the afternoon. Expect plenty of sunshine and mild conditions, with highs climbing into the upper 60s. It’s going to be one of those days that really shows off how comfortable fall can be.

If you’re voting later in the day or after work, conditions will still be very comfortable. Temperatures by the evening will ease back into the upper 50s and lower 60s, cool but not cold.Β

Rest of the week

As we move through the week, things are shaping up pretty nicely across the area. We’ll start off with those cool morning temperatures dipping into the mid to upper 40s, so you might still need a light jacket heading out early. But by the afternoon, it’s a different story. Sunshine will help push our highs into the low to mid-70s, running about five degrees warmer than what we’d normally see this time of year.

That warmer-than-average trend will stick around through the rest of the week and even into the weekend. It’s the kind of weather that makes it easy to get outside to wrap up some yard work or enjoy a fall afternoon out and about.

Now, changes are on the horizon as we get closer to the end of the weekend. Our next cold front is expected to slide in, and that’ll be the system to watch. It could bring our best chance in a while for some rain, followed by a noticeable cool-down heading into next week. So, enjoy the mild stretch while it lasts!
