SC measles outbreak surges to 47 cases

Measles cases in Upstate South Carolina continue to climb.

The Department of Public Health is reporting one new case since Tuesday.

That brings the total number of cases related to the outbreak to 44. The total being reported across the state is 47.

There are currently 18 people in quarantine.

The agency is reminding people that travel for the upcoming holidays increases the risk of exposure greatly for people who are traveling and people who are having visitors.
