OAKBORO, N.C. — A former police chief in Stanly County has been charged with second degree forcible rape, according to an arrest warrant.
William Chad Green, of Oakboro, was taken into custody after the warrant for his arrest was issued on April 5th.
Court documents claim the rape happened on April 4th. The victim is 16-years-old, according to the arrest warrant.
An official with the Town of Norwood said Green worked as police officer from September 2008 – May 2010 and was the police chief from August 2014 – June 2015.
Green has been issued a $500,000 secured bond and given an April 13th court appearance.
