CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD is investigating the alleged beating of a woman on a CATS bus. Officers say it happened on Centre Street near Brookshire Boulevard just after 8 AM on Friday, April 10. CATS officials say the woman got on to the bus to get away from the person was “pursuing” her, but the attacker followed her onto the vehicle.

CATS says the verbal altercation escalated into a physical encounter.

A CATS spokesperson tells WCCB, “Our bus operator immediately enacted emergency protocols and summoned first responders. Both parties involved in the dispute exited the vehicle and left the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.”

CATS says no other passengers were involved or injured. We asked CMPD if the victim or suspect have been identified, or if any arrests have been made.
