‘Titanic: The Exhibition’ coming to Charlotte for first time

North America’s largest touring Titanic exhibition is coming to Charlotte for the first time.

“Titanic: The Exhibition” is an interactive experience with breathtaking ship re-creations, authentic artifacts, and personal stories from passengers and crew of the Titanic.

It docks at The Park Expo & Conference Center from Friday, May 15 to Monday, Sept. 7.

“Titanic: The Exhibition’ connects visitors to the moving human stories of Titanic’s passengers and crew,” said Mark Lach, the exhibition’s creative producer. “As a member of the last team to dive to the Titanic wreck site to recover artifacts, I saw firsthand the awe-inspiring scale and significance of the ship. Of course, it was exciting, but also very emotional as well.

The exhibit starts with guests receiving a boarding card to trace a real Titanic passenger’s journey. Visitors will see re-created first- and third-class cabins before exploring over 300 artifacts from the Titanic and other vessels from that period.

Patrons get to view re-creations of the ship’s interior, including a replica of the Titanic’s iconic Grand Staircase, the ship’s interiors and deck, and much more complete with a starry night sky scene.

Guests also get to see the immersive Discovery Gallery with its raised glass floor that simulates what crews saw during their dives to the Titanic’s wreck site.

The journey concludes at a memorial wall where guests can reflect and learn the fate of their assigned passenger.

“Through the passengers’ stories, immersive recreations, and authentic artifacts, we’ve brought that sense of wonder and discovery to our guests, allowing them to step back in time and experience Titanic’s legacy like never before,” Lach said.

Music from that era plays throughout the exhibit. A VR experience is also available and provides an in-depth look at the Titanic’s resting place in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Titanic tour comes to Charlotte after sold-out runs in Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Salt Lake City, and more.
