Deputies say they find explosives, gun, drugs and more during traffic stop

ALEXANDER CO., N.C. – An Alexander County man is in jail after deputies say they found several improvised explosive devices in his car during a traffic stop.

Deputies pulled 58-year-old Christopher Thompson over for driving erratically on U.S. 64 on Friday. Along with the explosives, investigators say they found a gun, meth, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia.

Thompson is being held under a nearly $700,000 bond.
