CMPD runs annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The weather was beautiful Thursday morning as members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department laced of their sneakers for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
The group, including Chief Estella Patterson, ran a 5K through Uptown. It started at CMPD headquarters, then made a stop at Truist Field, before returning to the Law Enforcement Center.
The run raises money to support Special Olympics athletes in North Carolina.
