Driver dies after fiery, high-speed crash into Pineville government building

PINEVILLE, N.C. – Surveillance video shows the moments before a driver crashed into Pineville’s Town Hall and Library building.

The video shows how fast the driver was going, with sparks flying. It happened around 9:30 Monday night on Main Street. We’re told that vehicle ended up completely inside the building.

The driver, 22-year-old Souleyman Bakayoko, died at the scene.

No one else got hurt. There’s no word what led up to that crash.
