Former county deputy charged with misconduct in office

LAURENS COUNTY, N.C. – A former Laurens County Deputy has been charged with possession of contraband and misconduct in office. The suspect, Ashley Landreth, 36 is facing charges including use of a cell phone in violation of South Carolina conduct codes and failure to report knowledge of an inmate that was in possession of the contraband phone.

Landreth has been booked into the Laurens County Detention Center after facing a public official on Tuesday. Charges were filed by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
