CHARLOTTE, N.C. βΒ A homicide investigation is underway in northeast Charlotte.
Around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to Atrium Health University off North Tryon Street in regards to assault with a deadly weapon call for service.
Police said an unknown individual transported a victim with a gunshot wound to the hospital. The victim was pronounced dead shorty after being dropped off.
It is unclear where the original shooting occurred.
Homicide detectives responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call 704-432-8477 and speak to a Homicide Unit detective.
