Wake Co. Board of Commissioners delays vote toward major healthcare partnership

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Wake County Board of Commissioners has delayed a vote on a key step toward a major healthcare partnership.

The deal just announced on Friday would see Atrium Health take control of Raleigh-based WakeMed.

North Carolina’s State Auditor and State Treasurer both expressed concerns over the weekend about transparency around the deal and how quickly things are moving leading to the delayed vote.
