Suspect arrested after shooting in Richmond County

HAMLET, N.C. – A man was arrested following a shooting in Richmond County, according to the sheriff’s office.

It happened Thursday at a home on Sanford Street in Hamlet, North Carolina.

Deputies said Emerson Quick Jr. called 911 with gunshot wounds to his chest and leg. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but his condition is unknown at this time.

Throughout the investigation, detectives identified 31-year-old William Pratt as the suspect. He was arrested without incident and charged with attempted first-degree murder.

Pratt is in the custody of the Richmond County Jail without bond.
