74-year-old woman accused of shooting and killing husband in Union County

A 74-year-old woman is accused of shooting and killing her husband in Union County.

This happened around 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon on Winding Way in Monroe.Β 

Investigators say Patty Griffin claims she accidentally shot her husband, Dennis Griffin, in the shoulder. When deputies arrived, it became apparent he was actually shot in the chest.

Patty later admitted that the two had been in an argument when she shot him. She’s now being held at the Union County Detention Center under no bond.
