Ramsey Creek Beach in Cornelius will not open Memorial Day weekend

CORNELIUS, N.C. – Ramsey Creek Beach in Cornelius won’t be opening for the season on Memorial Day weekend, as it usually would.

It’s due to the ongoing drought. Mecklenburg County Park and Rec says despite recent rainfall, the water level at the swimming area is too low for people to safely use.

Park and Rec will continue to monitor conditions to see when it’s safe to open.
