2 killed in fiery Mustang crash in southwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two people died and another was seriously hurt after a car crash in southwest Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

It happened around 6:10 p.m. Wednesday on Westinghouse Boulevard near South Tryon Street.

Police said a Ford Mustang went into oncoming traffic on Westinghouse Boulevard and collided with a Chevrolet Camaro.Β 

The Mustang became fully engulfed in flames, and both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims’ names have not been released at this time.

The Chevrolet driver was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
