Sustain Charlotte offers new ideas for I-77 toll lanes project

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – People in the community have new ideas for the I-77 expansion project. It comes days after City Council rescinded it’s support for the current plan.

Sustain Charlotte has been one of the most vocal groups against NCDOT’s ideas. On Thursday, they presented three concepts to connect west Charlotte to Uptown. They say it focuses more on making that part of the city more walkable, with parks and public space.

City Council voted on Monday, 6 to 5, to rescind support for current plans.
