York Co. Coroner’s Office identifies man who jumped off boat and drowned in Lake Wylie

YORK CO., S.C. – The York County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who drowned in Lake Wylie Monday night. They say 25-year-old Daniel Moncion of Charlotte jumped off a boat into the water around 8:30 Tuesday night and did not resurface.

Dive teams have recovered Moncion’s body Tuesday morning. It happened near Tega Cay, close to the Catawba Dam.

Autopsy and toxicology results are pending. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the Coroner’s Office will continue to investigate.
