Police: 17-year-old girl hits 2 officers during driver’s license checkpoint

CONOVER, N.C. – Two Conover Police officers are recovering after being hit by a car. It happened just before 12:30 Sunday morning on County Home Road Northwest near 13th Street Northwest. That’s where officers were conducting a drivers license checkpoint.

We’re told a 17-year-old girl driving a Ford Fusion did not stop and ended up hitting the two officers, but remained on scene. The officers were taken the hospital and have been released with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver’s name and the name of the officers has not been released.
