23XI Racing employee suspended, accused of hitting man with golf cart
CONCORD, N.C. – A 23XI Racing employee has been suspended indefinitely after allegedly assaulting a man with a golf cart.
The incident occurred at Charlotte Motor Speedway last Saturday. According to the Cabarrus County court records, 35-year-old Evanna Howell “unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously did assault Dennis Manchester with golf cart used to assault the victim, a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury.”
Howell was charged with one felony count of assault with deadly weapon, serious injury. It was listed as a “behavioral” incident, and NASCAR suspended Howell indefinitely.
No information about the incident was released.
Howell received a $125,000 bond. She is a senior account manager for 23XI Racing, which is co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin. She has worked with the race team since 2021, according to her LinkedIn account.
