Tropical Storm Arthur forms in the Gulf: Rain heading to the Carolinas
Life-threatening flash flooding is possible from Texas to Alabama
Tropical Storm Arthur has formed in the Gulf. Arthur will only be over the Gulf for a short time so further development is not a concern. While this is now a named storm, impacts for Gulf Coast states remains the same.
Rainfall totals may be close to 10 inches in spots with isolated higher amounts from Mid and Upper Texas coast to Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Life-threatening flash flooding is possible.
Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect for High Island, Texas to Morgan City Louisiana.
Locally, our rain amounts depend on the track of the low pressure. As of Wednesday morning, expect rain to move in late Thursday through early Friday with heavy downpours possible. Some locations may see an inch of rain – this would be beneficial.
