CMPD’s Cold Case Unit IDs three suspects in nearly nine-year-old murder case
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Three men are facing charges nearly nine years after they allegedly shot and killed the manager of an east Charlotte pawn shop.
Broderick Falls, Nathaniel Rorie and David Webber are all charged with the murder of Raymond Johnson. The 43-year-old was found shot inside his car in 2017 after it crashed into a utility pole near the intersection of Monroe Road and Fugate Avenue.
Falls was arrested Monday by CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) and is now in the Mecklenburg County jail.
Rorie was also arrested Monday, in Horry County, South Carolina, where he awaits extradition to Mecklenburg County.
Webber is currently serving a prison sentence for armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon. Detectives traveled to the prison in Tillery on Tuesday to question Webber.
