Thursday, the heat really starts to turn up. We’ll see mostly sunny skies with highs climbing to the upper 90s. With the humidity, it could feel closer to 106 during the afternoon.
That’s dangerous heat, especially if you’re spending a lot of time outside. Thursday night won’t offer much relief with lows will only falling into the mid-70s, so it stays warm and muggy through the overnight hours.
Friday could be the hottest day of the stretch. Highs are expected to reach around 98 degrees with plenty of sunshine. If you have outdoor plans, try to get them done earlier in the day. By afternoon, the combination of heat and humidity will make it feel especially uncomfortable.
We finally got a small step down in temperatures Saturday. It will still be hot, with highs near 90 degrees and mostly sunny skies. The bigger change comes Saturday night as a front approaches.
That could bring a few showers and thunderstorms into the area, with rain chances around 30%. Overnight lows will drop into the low 70s, giving us a little relief heading into Sunday.
