Quiet evening with less humidity

Rain arrives late week

Tonight, we get a little break from the heat, but it’s still going to be warm and muggy out there. Skies will be partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping into the low to mid-70s. So while it won’t be quite as hot, the humidity is definitely sticking around.

Wednesday brings the heat right back. We’re talking plenty of sunshine with temperatures climbing to the mid 90sWith humidity at play, it’s going to feel more like 100 to 103 degrees during the afternoon.

If you have yard work to do, walking the dog or any other outdoor plans, try to get it done early in the morning before that afternoon heat really kicks in.

Thursday is when we turn the heat up another notch. Highs will climb to the upper 90s under mostly sunny skies, making it the hottest day of this stretch. We could see a few isolated thunderstorms develop by early afternoon,  but most of the day will stay hot and mainly dry.

The bigger change comes Thursday night. A new system will start moving into the area, and that will bring a much better chance for showers and thunderstorms late evening into the overnight.

Then, we get some relief on Friday. Temperatures drop back to the low 90s, and we’ll trade the relentless sunshine and heat for mostly cloudy skies and a much better chance of rain. Showers and thunderstorms are likely after 2 p.m., with rain chances around 70%. After several days of this heat, rain will be a welcoming sight.
