The Start Of Meteorological Fall Brings Rising Heat

Tuesday (The official start of Meteorological Fall)  starts a stretch of some serious summer heat. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds through the day, with temperatures climbing into the mid-90s. Once you factor in the humidity, it will feel even hotter during the afternoon.

The heat really peaks Wednesday and Thursday. Expect plenty of sunshine mixed with a few clouds, but the main story will be those mid to upper 90s temperatures. It could feel like 102 to 104 degrees at times during the afternoon, so the heat will be tough to ignore.

Thursday looks to be the day we watch most closely for the heat. We could get close to a record highs. By Friday, it stays hot, but we’re hoping this is the last big heat push.

We’re also keeping an eye on the tropics. One system has a good chance of becoming Edouard later tonight or tomorrow morning. Another area of disturbed weather, tied to the remnants of Dolly, will move westward across Puerto Rico the next few days. Some of that moisture could eventually make its way into the Gulf. Stay tuned!
