Mild and humid evening with more extreme heat on the way

Feels like temperatures above 100 through the week

Tonight, skies stay mostly clear, but it will still be a warm and muggy night with temperatures only dropping into the low 70s.

Then, the heat really turns up Wednesday. We’re talking sunshine, very little cloud cover, and temperatures climbing into the upper 90s. However the thermometer won’t tell the whole story. Once you factor in the humidity, it’s going to feel more like the low 100s, with heat index values pushing 105°. Make sure you’re staying hydrated and taking plenty of breaks.

Thursday doesn’t offer much relief. We’ll stay mostly sunny with temperatures again running in the upper 90s, and it will continue to feel well into the 100s during the afternoon. Our best day to beat record highs.

By Friday, we’re still dealing with the heat. Expect another mostly sunny day with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s, so we’re not quite out of the woods yet.

The weekend, though, is where we could finally start to see some changes. Temperatures should ease back a bit, and we’ll bring back a better chance for those typical summertime afternoon showers and thunderstorms. So while it may still be warm and humid, at least we’ll have some rain chances to help knock the temperatures down a few degrees.
