Muggy evening with heavy rain set to move in Saturday afternoon

A major cool down by Sunday afternoon

*Things to watch for this weekend*
Dense fog concerns
Rain starting Saturday afternoon
Heavy downpours leading to localized flooding
Tailgating and Game time rain expected
Major drop in temperatures Sunday

It’s a quiet Friday night across the region, with temperatures staying mild before dropping into the low 70s overnight.

Enjoy the first part of Saturday because the weather will gradually go downhill. Clouds will build, and by the afternoon, heavy rain and a few storms will dominate the forecast. A widespread severe weather setup isn’t expected, but some of those showers could produce some heavy downpours in a short amount of time. The worst of the storm will be Saturday night into the start of Sunday. Localized flooding is possible.

Now Sunday will be more of a steady rain that will continue all day. Sunday will also bring a big change in temperatures. As cooler air moves in, afternoon readings will struggle to get out of the 60s. So, after a mild start to the weekend, Sunday temperatures drop nearly 15 to 20 degrees. Rainfall totals are impressive with most areas picking up at least an 1-2″

The good news is that the weather pattern improves quickly once we get into next week. Monday may still have a few leftover clouds, but rain moves out and drier air takes over.

Tuesday through Friday calmer conditions are expected with more of a fall feel and plenty of sunshine!
