Summer Heat To Fall Chill
Upper 80s to 60s by this weekend
Tonight: Another Quiet and Comfortable Evening
No weather worries as we head through Tuesday evening! We’ll keep things nice and dry across the region and the surrounding communities. Skies will stay mostly clear overnight, setting us up for another beautiful, sunny start Wednesday morning. Lows fall into the mid 50s
Wednesday and Thursday: October or August?
Our weather pattern is pretty much on repeat through Thursday. High pressure will keep the sunshine going, rain chances out of the forecast, and temperatures well above where they should be for this time of year.
Afternoon highs will climb into the upper 80s, putting us within striking distance of record warmth. Humidity levels will stay relatively low. That means we won’t have to deal with the oppressive, muggy feeling.
Friday: One Last Taste of Summer
Friday will be our final day of this unusually warm stretch, and we’re going out on a hot note! Temperatures will once again climb into the upper 80s, with plenty of dry weather expected throughout the day.
But behind the scenes, a pretty significant change will already be taking shape. A strong cold front will be making its way toward the Carolinas. The front is expected to push through Friday night, opening the door for a much cooler air mass.
Saturday: Here Comes the Cooldown!
By the time we wake up Saturday morning, that cold front will have moved through, and we’ll begin feeling a noticeable difference in our temperatures. Gone will be the upper 80s we’ve been dealing with all week. Instead, cooler air will settle across the area, bringing a much more seasonable feel to the weekend. Daytime highs return to the 60s.
The cooler air will continue moving in through Saturday, setting us up for an even bigger change overnight.
Sunday: The Coldest Morning of the Season So Far!
Sunday morning is shaping up to be our coldest start of the fall season so far.
If you’re heading out early Sunday, whether it’s for church, a morning walk, or grabbing coffee, you’ll definitely want an extra layer before walking out the door. It’s going to feel like a completely different season compared to the upper 80s we experienced just a couple of days earlier. Feels like temperature will hit the lower 30s for the mountains and low 40 in the Metro. We will watch for some freeze alerts for some areas.
Stay tuned!
