Clear and quiet tonight with record warmth Thursday
Temperature drop heading into this weekend
Tonight remains clear and quiet with temperatures staying mild in the lower 60s.
Thursday once again high pressure will keep the sunshine going and above average temperatures. Afternoon highs will climb into the upper 80s to near 90° with record highs likely by late afternoon.
Friday will be our final day of this unusually warm stretch. Temperatures will once again climb into the upper 80s, with plenty of dry weather expected throughout the day.
Late Friday evening we’ll notice changes as a strong cold front will be making its way toward the region. The front is expected to push through Friday night, with colder air set to be in place by Saturday morning.
By the time we wake up Saturday morning, that cold front will have moved through, and we’ll begin feeling a noticeable difference in our temperatures. Cooler air will settle across the area, bringing a much more seasonable feel to the weekend. Daytime highs return to the 60s.
The cooler air will continue moving in through Saturday, setting us up for an even bigger change overnight.
Sunday will be some of the coldest air of the season. Frost is likely for the mountains, but everywhere else frost isn’t likely.
It’s going to feel like a completely different season compared to the upper 80s we experienced just a couple of days earlier. Feels like temperature will hit the lower 30s for the mountains and low 40 in the Metro. It will still be a nice sunny day but daytime highs will remain in the 60s.
