More sunshine and 70s Thursday

Stable weather pattern through Saturday

Tonight, expect a quiet evening across the area with a few more clouds drifting overhead. Temperatures will gradually cool overnight, but we’re not tracking any major changes or significant weather concerns. As we move through the rest of the workweek, sunshine will have a little more competition from the clouds. We’re still expecting plenty of dry time, and temperatures will continue to climb into the 70s during the afternoon.

Halloween Saturday is looking pretty good! Right now, the forecast favors dry conditions across much of the region, which means outdoor festivals, neighborhood gatherings and trick-or-treating should be in good shape. We’ll have some clouds around, but rain isn’t expected to interfere with the festivities. Of course, you’ll still want to keep a light jacket handy once the sun goes down and temperatures begin to cool.

Our next opportunity for rain arrives Sunday as a developing weather system pushes moisture northward into the region. This will bring a noticeable change from the quiet weather we’ve experienced lately. Clouds will increase, and showers could begin spreading across portions of the Carolinas as we move through the day. Depending on how quickly this system moves, some of that rainfall could stick around into early Monday morning.

The bigger question right now is just how much rain we’ll actually pick up. What is encouraging is that we’re finally seeing signs of a pattern that could bring some much-needed moisture back into the region.

Looking farther ahead into next week, the overall weather setup could become a little more active, potentially opening the door for additional rounds of showers.
