CHARLOTTE, N.C. –Β Β Bring together Wilson, members of the Charlotte Fire Department, NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin and his FedEx Racing Team and you’ve got one major shipping competition!
Wilson was joined at the FedEx office by NASCAR driver Denny Hamilin who drives the #11 FedEx car and members of the Charlotte Fire DepartmentΒ for a little friendly competition to help their favorite charities.
After chatting with Denny about this past NASCAR season and the upcoming 2015 season, the guys got down to business.
Thanks to FedEx, a large check was on the line for each group’s charity.Β Denny’s FedEx Racing Team was competing for their charityΒ the Denny Hamlin Foundation and the great guys with the Charlotte Fire Department competing for Do the Right Thing program.
After laying down a few ground rules, the competition was underway.Β Cardboard and bubble wrap was flying as the two groups began wrapping a race car tire for shipping.Β The FedEx guys definitely know speed on the track, but unfortunately when the packing tape dispenser was dropped,Β the CFD came out on top.Β But both teams came out winners,Β getting checks for each of their charities.
