CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β€” A person familiar with the contract says free-agent forward Marvin Williams has agreed to a $14 million, two-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal has not yet been made public. The person says the deal will be signed next week. The 6-foot-9, 237-pound Williams has played nine seasons in the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz. Williams, 28, averaged 9.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 66 games for the Jazz last season, including 50 starts.

CLEVELAND (AP) β€” The Cavaliers have acquired center Brendan Haywood and forward Dwight Powell from Charlotte for guard Scotty Hopson and cash considerations. A 12-year veteran, Haywood has played in 794 NBA games, averaging 6.9 points and 6.1 rebounds. He missed all of last season with a broken foot.

LOUDON, N.H. (AP) β€” Brad Keselowski dominated from the pole and cruised to the win in Saturday’s Nationwide Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Keselowski led 153 of the 200 laps in his second Nationwide win of the season. Keselowski also topped the speed chart during Sprint Cup practice to complete a perfect day for the Team Penske driver. Kyle Busch was second. He starts on the pole for Sunday’s Cup race.

LOUDON, N.H. (AP) β€” The chairman of the new Race Team Alliance says the group would allow other NASCAR teams to join and is focused on promoting the sport. Rob Kauffman says the group is not immediately trying to renegotiate the teams’ cut of an $8.2 billion television package that kicks in next year. Speaking Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Kauffman says teams that have attempted to qualify in 95 percent of the Sprint Cup races over the last two years would be eligible to join the RTA.
