Nothing but night games

UNDATED (AP) — After a flurry of day games yesterday in baseball, there are only evening contests today.

In the American League, the new-look Yankees are on the road for a game with the Astros in Houston while, at the same time, the Rays are hosting the Blue Jays. On the West coast, the Athletics are entertaining the Indians again while Seattle is in Anaheim to meet the Angels.

The four-game National League card has the Dodgers playing the Padres in San Diego, Miami at home to the Rockies, the Braves in Milwaukee and the Giants at Arizona.

The interleague game of the day has the Phillies at Texas.

NBA-SCHEDULE

Nets will attempt to close in on the Raptors

Houston is firmly entrenched in the Western Conference playoff standings with a record of 49-23. The most they can hope for is to catch the Clippers for the third seed in the West.

Golden State and Dallas are battling for a playoff berth in the West and tonight they collide in Dallas. Starting the day, the Warriors are sixth in the conference standings while the Mavs are tied with Memphis and Phoenix for one of the last two berths, a game and a half back of the Warriors.

The final game features the Lakers at home to the Blazers.

The St. Louis Blues continue to lead the Western Conference with 107 points. They host Philadelphia this evening.

The top team in the East is Boston, by nine points over Pittsburgh. The Bruins have the night off while the Pens are home to Carolina.
