CHARLOTTE, NC — The Fourth Annual Voices Project wrapped up late Monday night in Uptown Charlotte.  It’s an event that coincides with World AIDS Day.

Local storytellers, WCCB’s Morgan Fogarty and Terrance Bates included, read the stories of local people who’ve been impacted by HIV or AIDS.  The goal is to start conversations and educate.

“We want to raise awareness,” said RAIN President and CEO Debbie Warren.  “We want people to get tested if they’re at risk and know that they can get some great medication that will help them live a long and healthy life.”

The Voices Project is free and open to the public, but donations are always accepted.  The production was developed by the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network, or RAIN, and the Mecklenburg County Health Department.
