ARLINGTON, VA — The U.S. Postal Service dedicated Forever stamps to Korean War veterans Saturday morning.
The Korean War Medal of Honor stamps pay tribute to the 145 American veterans who received the nation’s highest military honor and went beyond the call of duty during the Korean War.
The dedication took place at the Arlington National Cemetery’s Amphitheater where 25 Korean War Medal of Honor recipients were buried.
Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe dedicated the stamps and said, “Today we are here, in this peaceful setting, to remember a war and those who fought it so valiantly.”
The President of the Korean War Veterans Association, Republic of Korea Vice Minister for the Ministry of Patriot and Veterans Affairs and Representative of National Assembly of the Republic of Korea joined Donahoe in the dedication.
The Forever stamps can be purchased nationwide at post offices or at usps.com/stamps. The stamps can also be ordered by calling 800-782-6724.
