Remember a couple of weeks ago, when citizens took things into their own hands by busting out a locked car’s window to keep a baby from overheating? Β Things like this are becoming more common, and some places are giving citizens authority to act on their own. Β So at what point does that become a problem?

A couple in Colorado decided to get in on the “hot baby rescue” thing, and got run over for their trouble. Β They called the cops first, but then confronted the suspect. Β That led to a fist-fight, and before it was over, the suspect had jumped in her vehicle and actually ran over the couple.

And it goes beyond “baby rescue”. Β Remember the guy in Florida who found a teenager in his son’s bedroom? Β The guy looked more than rough when dad got through with him. Β He didn’t wait for the cops to show up, just took the law into his own hands and beat the guy into submission. Β Then he called police.

Of course, a lot of you probably think you’d do the same thing for your family. Β But we have a legal system in place so mobs don’t blindly punish innocent people. Β So where’s the line?
