CLEVELAND (AP) β€” LeBron James scored 27 points with 13 assists, Kevin Love added 22 points and 18 rebounds, and the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Charlotte Hornets 97-88 last night. The Cavaliers jumped to a 21-0 lead, but the Hornets regrouped and got within two points early in the third quarter before the Cavaliers pulled away.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β€” Panthers coach Ron Rivera says he’ll take a wait-and-see approach as to whether or not quarterback Cam Newton will play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. DURHAM, N.C. (AP) β€” Jahlil Okafor had a season-high 25 points and set a Duke freshman record with 20 rebounds in the Blue Devils’ 75-62 victory over Elon last night. Amile Jefferson added 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting and Justise Winslow had 12 points for Duke.
