34-Year-Old Man Killed In Rock Hill Crash

ROCK HILL, S.C. — The Rock Hill Police Department is investigating a crash that left a man dead Monday afternoon.

Police responded to the intersection of Old York Road and Pennington Road around 4 p.m. in reference to a traffic accident involving a Chevrolet Silverado and a GMC Yukon.

Upon arrival, police found the driver of the Silverado, identified as a 34-year-old man, unresponsive on the ground. EMS responded, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two occupants of the Yukon had minor injuries but did not need any medical treatment.

Based on the initial investigation, the driver of the Silverado disregarded the red light at the intersection and was struck by the Yukon, according to police. The driver of the Silverado was ejected due to the impact.

The Rock Hill Police Department Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team and Forensic Services Unit responded to continue the investigation.
