East Charlotte Fire That Displaced Family Ruled As Accidental

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A fire that broke out early Wednesday morning on Dorn Circle is being ruled as accidental.

They say it was caused by an overheated exhaust fan. Fire and smoke damaged the attic and roof.

One person was inside the home when the fire broke out but no injuries were reported. It took around 30 minutes for Charlotte Fire Fighters to control the fire.

The family did not require assistance from the American Red Cross.

The estimated damage has not been determined.
