CHARLOTTE, N. C. – Steve Smith was at home in Charlotte today to join Wilson at the Siskey YMCA to encourage families to participate in the Steve Smith Family Foundation’s Lace Up Son Family 5K on May 25th. And as usual, get Smitty and Wilson together and you’re gonna have some laughs.
Steve enjoys messing with Wilson, urging Wilson to get a “Smitty” tattoo on his face and just generally giving him a hard time. But he also managed to give Derek a hard time back in the studio. Of course, Wilson being Wilson, he had to give Steve a hard time as well.
But Steve and Wilson got down to business and talked about subjects close to Steve’s heart, his Steve Smith Family Foundation and the upcoming Lace Up Son Family 5K. The Steve Smith Family Foundation began their annual Lace Up Son Family 5K last year and again this year the event will continue to help raise funds for the Siskey, Simmons and Johnston’s YMCAs as well as the Special Olympics of North Carolina.
The Lace Up Son Family 5K will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th. The 5K will begin at 8am taking particpants through the streets in Matthews and will conclude at Stumptown Park. The day will continue to be a family friendly event celebrating Memorial Day and current and veteran members of the military.
Participants for the Lace UP Son Family 5K can pre-register on-line or can register day of the event beginning at 6:30am. For more information on the Lace up Son Family 5K go to their website HERE.
