WASHINGTON — President Obama is ready to launch air strikes on Iraq but he says the US will not be getting into another war there.
The President says the attacks may be necessary because America can not turn a blind eye to the senseless violence ISIL has launched in Iraq.
The militants have seized much of northern and western Iraq. Defense officials say US air strikes would be aimed at protecting the 90 US advisers already in Iraq. Β Β
Thursday the United States began a humanitarian air drop mission to help people trying to escape the violence.
