Man Dies In Catawba County Mobile Home Fire

VALE, N.C. — A 73-year-old man died in a mobile home fire Wednesday night in Vale, N.C.

Authorities say the fire broke out around 10:51 p.m. at a home on Banoak Road, and the home was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.

The fire was ruled accidental and was determined to be caused by a kerosene heater.

Fire officials say the man who died has been identified as 73-year-old Ronald Mosteller of Vale.

Investigators say there was no power in the home when they arrived, which could a contributing factor.
