Police: Huntersville Human Remains Victim Identified, Second Suspect Charged With Murder

The Latest (2/20/22):

The human remains found in Huntersville in January have been identified as a 47-year-old Rowan County woman, according to authorities.

The Huntersville Police Department has identified the victim in the homicide case as Alibria “Libby” Kerns. Over the last two weeks, police received leads that aided in the identification of the victim.

Through a continued investigation, authorities traveled to Grand Rapids, Michigan, to interview the second suspect in the case, 36-year-old Cody “Red” Camarda Graham.

Police say Graham has been in custody, in Michigan, since before the homicide investigation began, on unrelated charges.

Upon returning from Michigan, the Huntersville Police Department sought, and obtained, charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and concealing a death, according to a news release. Graham will remain in custody in Michigan until an extradition hearing is completed.

Huntersville Police Department is asking for help identifying the victim involved in this current homicide case. Video surveillance of the victim has been released.

Police say the victim is described as a white female, roughly 5′ 7″ tall, wearing a T-shirt and shorts with dark shoes. The victim also had a silicone ring on her left hand, according to a news release. Officials believe the victim has been missing since approximately July 2021.

Huntersville Police Department discovered a second suspect involved in this case. The suspect has been in custody on unrelated charges in another state since the onset of this case. That suspect’s name has not been released at this time.

The Latest (1/28/22):

A man has been charged in a Huntersville homicide case involving the discovery of human remains on Wednesday, according to police.

Through an initial investigation, police identified Christopher Nailor as the suspect in the case involving the missing person that was found dead.

Christopher Nailor First Degree Murder Kidnapping Failure To Report Death

Nailor has been charged with first degree murder, kidnapping, and concealing a death, police say. He is being held, without bond, at the Mecklenburg County Jail.

The investigation into the homicide case is active and ongoing.

Police say there is currently no threat to the community.

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — An investigation is underway after officers discovered human remains in Huntersville on Wednesday

Huntersville Police responded to Comanche Road after receiving information from CMPD regarding a possible homicide investigation involving a missing person.

At the scene, officers found what appeared to be the human remains of a missing person from Charlotte.

Police have one person of interest currently in custody.
