SALISBURY,NC–Reports say 20 domestic geese and ducks were found slaughtered at a lake located in a Salisbury cemetery.
Shooters reportedly shot across the lake scaring the geese and ducks toward a high bank, where they were shot while struggling to get out of the water.
Only three geese remain after the shooting, a rescue team went Thursday to try to relocate the birds but say the animals were traumatized and wouldn’t even come for food.
Carolina Waterfowl says they have rescued the three birds, one suffering from a gunshot wound.
The shooting was reportedly ordered by the cemetery’s management company, StoneMor.
