A rite of passage in the dog days of summer is off the table to Boy Scouts. Β Scouting leaders are now reminding troops of a new ban this summer: no water guns. Β The ban was revealed in a recent blog post in Scouting Magazine. Β

The ban was actually put in place in February, but this is the first warm season it’ll be in effect. Β The author explains that water guns can be used for target practice, but not pointed at another scout. Β Why the rule? Β One member put it this way: Boy Scouts are kind, and pointing a firearm at someone is not kind.

So what do you think? Β Boy Scouts say they’re kind, but have they lost their minds?
