Carbon Monoxide Leak At Charlotte Assisted Living Facility

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Fire fighters responded to a carbon monoxide leak at an assisted living facility on the 5800 block of Old Providence Road just after 10 a.m. Saturday.

Firefighters determined the cause of the CO reading was a faulty water heater. The 12 occupants were relocated to the dining room for safety and the place had to be ventilated until the carbon monoxide was removed.

It took 25 firefighters 42 minutes to control the incident. No one was injured.
